Acne and Acne Scars

Summer is finally here which means time to have fun in the sun! Although this is the time of the year where we can lay out pool side, it also means that our skin is more susceptible to sun damage which may lead to sunspots, dryness, and uneven tan lines. We may have certain skin routines in place, but like the changing of the seasons, we have to make sure that our routines and habits adapt to the weather. Sometimes our skin needs extra care in order to fully maintain its healthy glow. In the summer, we need to keep our skin hydrated.

Depending on where you live, summer can mean your skin is more exposed to heat and humidity and for some people this can lead to oily skin. Exposing your skin to too much sun can lead to dehydrated skin, sun burns and red patches. Our skin is not properly ready to defend against sun exposure on its own. Our skin tries its best however by adding extra melanin (the component in skin that gives UV protection and pigment) and this is what gives us a tan.  If we do not protect our skin, not only do we damage our skin by making it work harder to protect internal organs but also, lack of protection can lead to hyperpigmentation of the skin, and in worse cases, sun burn and eventual skin cancer. In order to prevent sun damaged skin, here are some tips in order to keep your summer skin looking healthy and glowing:

DON’T take hot showers

Opt for a cold shower which will help to lower body temperature and close pores, which prevents dirt and oil getting into pores which prevents acne break outs. Our skin is an important part of the body which helps fight bacteria from the outside, and sometimes that bacteria can get clogged in your pores, due to enlarged pores. Taking a cold shower helps close pores and makes it harder for bacteria to get caught in the skin. However, make sure your pores are clean before rinsing with cold water. Try Clear Essence Blemish Control Wash Formula to remove excess dirt, bacteria, and oil from the skin and refresh the complexion. After splashing the skin with cool water, help seal pores even more with a cleansing toner. Toners help remove any dirt or oil left behind after your first step cleansing so you can be sure your skin is squeaky clean after enjoying a day outdoors.

DO wear extra wide brim hats

Apart from looking stylish, wearing extra wide brim hats will help prevent your skin from being exposed to the sun, however that does not mean that you shouldn’t put sunscreen on. Sunscreen is mandatory—always. We recommend Clear Essence My Natural Beauty Lotion with SPF 15 as a daily body protectant. By wearing a wide brim hat, not only are you protecting your skin from sun damage, but you’re also protecting your hair from being sunburnt as well. Those with balding or thinning hair are even more susceptible to developing skin cancer as the tops of our heads are closest to the sun. Therefore, using a hat can come in handy, because not only is your beautiful skin being protected, but also your hair which acts as a bodyguard for your scalp, will also be protected under an accessory which makes a strong fashion statement: sun don’t ruin my fun!

DO wear mosquito repellant

If you live in an area where mosquitos are prone to be drawn to, apply mosquito repellant. Mosquitos tend to bite bodies that have warm temperatures. In some cases, however, mosquito bites can lead to hyperpigmentation of the skin which leaves you not only upset about a mosquito bite, but now having to deal with a dark spot that the little sucker left behind. Under no circumstances should you scratch it, or else it’ll lead to more skin trauma, which leads to hyperpigmentation. We also have to keep in mind that there may be bacteria in our hands or fingernails, which may lead to infection. If you do have the urge to scratch, scratch something else instead, like a stuffed animal or a lottery ticket, in order to keep your mind off the irritation! If hyperpigmentation does occur, especially on dark skin, our Clear Essence Platinum Line Extra Strength Skin Beautifying Milk with SPF 15 which helps reduce dark spots and can brighten areas of hyperpigmentation. The added sunscreen protection helps prevent redarkening as well!

DON’T leave without sunscreen

Always, always, always, apply sunscreen before and after being exposed to the sun. By applying sunscreen, we are prevented from having sun-damaged dark skin which may include sunspots or dry skin. In order to ensure full protection, a sunscreen with a minimum of SPF 15 is recommended. Lip balms containing sunscreen are also a great way to protect your lips from being damaged as well. There are also hair products available that help protect your scalp from damage, or as stated earlier, nothing beats a nice large hat. In the case that your skin is already damaged from having fun in the sun all day, our carrot oil skin care products which contain Beta Cartone which helps dehydrated skin from sun damage or irritation.

DO drink plenty of water

Water is important for many reasons, but in order to keep the elasticity in your skin, you must drink water daily. Our skin is made of 64% water, so imagine your skin without water? It would be less protected from the sun, which leads to damaged skin. Yikes!  Our skin’s natural protein relies heavily on water, so drink up that H2O! Heading out to the beach? Although you may not be able to drink water from the ocean, salt water has beneficial nutrients, such as magnesium, for the skin, which can reduce swelling, protect the body and even balance out skin tones. Although seawater helps strengthen our skin, it can damage our hair due to the magnesium in the water. So not only should we avoid too much seawater in our hair, but also limit the amount of seawater our body is exposed to, otherwise it can lead to dry skin conditions.

DON’T let sun damage heal on its own

When it comes to sun burns, we tend to tell each other to let it heal on its own, but then our skin starts doing weird things like peeling. In order to prevent skin cancer, our body attempts to shed off its damaged cells, which is why we see our skin crack and peel. Taking that cold shower and drinking plenty of water helps put hydration back into the body, which helps since sunburns cause the body to become dehydrated. Add a few drops of a body oil to bath water is also a soothing way to replenish skin if you are in a lot of pain. If your skin does suffer from hyperpigmentation from being out in the sun too much, our Platinum Line skin care products such as the Skin Beautifying Milk and Medicated Fade Creme may be used in order to help even out dark spots and discolorations from sun exposure.

DO try going make up free

Going make up free in the summer can benefit not only your skin but also let you be free of having to worry about runny foundation and mascara. Let’s face it, no one wants to be a hot mess! Oily skin from the summer heat opens up your pores and can cause makeup to seep into the skin and cause acne. Not only are you saving time, but you’re also letting your skin breathe by eliminating all the products that you’re putting on your face. Because you’re not wearing make up, you will also be able to protect with SPF directly on the skin rather than over makeup or relying solely on the SPF in your foundation. But if you decide that make up free is not for you, then opt for waterproof mascara, and keep make up to a minimal.

DO have fun!

Most importantly, don’t let the heat of the summer take away from having fun outside! If you don’t have any important tasks to do, then try avoiding being outside from 10am to 4pm, which is the time that the sun tends to be at its peak. If you do go out during these times, again remember to wear sunscreen, since it is more probable for you to get sunburnt during these hours. Catch a movie, go to a museum, a mall, but whatever you do, protect yourself, protect your skin, and don’t let the sun ruin your day!

Anti-Aging Skin Care

Seven Tips to Fight Premature Aging

Aging. It’s an inevitable part of life that we all have to face. As we get older, things in our bodies begin to change, including the way our skin looks and feels. And, as our bodies change, we also have to change the way that we care for ourselves. Thankfully, there’s a plethora of research available with valuable information that can assist you with ways to care for your aging skin. as well as different methods and tricks that can help slow down the aging process. Aging skin is beautiful skin, and knowing the right way to care for it is essential for long-lasting skin health.

Premature Aging

Stress
man-390339__180We can’t stop time, but we can pay attention to different activities we engage in  that are known to “speed up” the aging process and take a toll on your body and  your skin. Stress is a large contributor to premature aging. There is no one  specific definition of stress that is agreed upon, but according to the American Institute of Stress, it is any experience or situation that causes “physical, mental or emotional strain or tension.” We need to let our body to rest and rejuvenate from the daily pressures of life. By allowing our stress levels to run on overdrive, our body will start showing signs of depleting energy. We will notice more bags under our eyes, fine lines, and gray hairs.

Stress has a huge effect on our body’s ability to function properly. Your body’s response to stress can manifest in a number of different ways from accelerating your heart rate, inhibiting your body’s ability to digest food and affecting different hormones in your body. When you’re faced with stress, it is important to assess the situation and take necessary steps to alleviate your mind and body from the negative effects of stress for the sake of your overall health. You can do this by engaging in relaxing activities. Try meditation, exercise, or listening to your favorite tunes! And, most importantly, don’t forget to breathe. When you slow down and focus on your body when you’re stressed, you’re actively taking care of your health and caring for your skin!

Sun Protection

It feels great to soak in the sun on a warm day, but be careful not to take in too much! Excessive exposure to the sun’s UV rays is known to cause skin discoloration, wrinkles and can even increase your risk for skin cancer if you do not protect your skin from the sun properly. Too much sun negatively affects the elastin in your skin, which is a protein fiber that is responsible for your skin retaining its shape if it is stretched. When the sun breaks these fibers down, your skin loses its natural elasticity and sags as gravity continues to pull on your skin. Always make sure to use sunscreen with a higher SPF protection whenever you know that you will be out in the sun longer than thirty minutes.

Eat Healthy. Fight Free Radicals

render-684129_1920We have all heard the phrase “you are what you eat,” and when it comes to our skin, it is absolutely true. A well-balanced diet will help you maintain healthy, supple skin that will help fight off visible signs of aging in your skin. Choose foods that are rich in antioxidants and vitamins. They are great for working against the effects of free radicals on your skin. A free radicals, or oxidants, are atoms or molecules that are missing an electron. They damage our skin cells by attacking normal atoms in our skin in an attempt to steal an electron from other healthy atoms. When an excess amount of free radicals accumulate, it causes damage deep within the skin that makes our skin age faster. The older we get, the harder it is for our body to get rid of excess free radicals. One of the easiest and effective ways to fight off the effects of free radicals in our skin is to search for agents that are loaded with antioxidants.

Antioxidants

It is important to work on keeping your skin healthy and youthful early. Collagen and elastin in our skin begin to decline at age twenty-five and the effects of free radicals can speed that up. Antioxidants are molecules that stop other molecules from oxidizing, which is what causes chemical reactions in molecules that lead to the creation of free radicals.

Thankfully there are a variety of foods and products that are filled with natural antioxidants that will target free radicals and improve the overall health of your body and your skin. Eat fruits and vegetables like carrots, kale and watermelon that are rich in Beta-carotenes; broccoli, grapefruit and strawberries which have great sources of vitamin C; and avocados, spinach and peppers which contain vitamin E. To get the best benefits, eat your antioxidant rich food raw to not risk losing any nutrients when the food is cooked.

Moisturize

Moisture is an overlooked key to keeping your skin soft, supple and healthy. When your skin doesn’t get the moisture that it needs, it will dry out and cause premature wrinkles, rashes, itching and flaking. The same way a grape can turn into a raisin, you skin can also change dramatically if you do not moisturize correctly.

Getting the moisture that you need can be done in a number of ways, but the easiest is to consume enough water or water-rich foods, and to make sure that you are using a moisturizer that is compatible with your skin. A great drops-of-water-578897_1920moisturizing tip is to use your lotions and crèmes right after a warm shower when your skin is still slightly damp. This method will help trap the moisture on your skin while your pores are open from the warmth of the water to maximize your skin’s hydration. And, for those extra dry trouble spots, follow with a natural body oil of your choice to promote smooth skin and moisture retention.

Also, pay attention to your diet! Moisturizing your skin on the inside is just as important as moisturizing it on the outside. The next time you go to the grocery store, make sure to pick up more moisturizing foods and leave behind the dehydrating ones. Try fruits and vegetables like watermelon, cucumber, cantaloupe, kiwi and tomatoes to give your body a hydrated glow. And, try to limit your alcohol and coffee intake. Alcohol and coffee are both natural diuretics, and when consumed in large quantities, they will deplete your body’s water resources without replenishing it.

Boost Your Skin Routine

When you think about your skin care routine, we tend to just think about our skin care products. But, that’s just half the picture. What we do with our skin care products in our routine is just as important as the products themselves. Creating a comprehensive care routine can help break any skin goal plateaus and get your skin feeling brand new in no time.

A good, comprehensive skin care routine, especially one for anti-aging, is typically a multi-step system that works to counteract the different signs of visible aging. To start building your personal anti-aging skin routine, use these steps as guidelines:

  1. Use a skin cleanser that is water-soluble and removes dirt, oil and bacteria from the face and body. Cleansing your skin gives you a clean, healthy slate to work with when continuing with the next steps in your anti-aging skin routine. Follow with a toner to refine and tighten your pores and clarify the skin.
  2. After cleansing, use a product the directly targets your specific skin issue. For anti-aging, look for treatment serums and crèmes with antioxidants and essential vitamins that will enhance your skin’s regeneration to keep you looking young and healthy. And if possible, select treatment products that also protect against UVA and UVB rays for added anti-aging skin protection.
  3. Moisturized skin is healthy skin and moisturizing regularly will help keep your skin youthful in appearance. Cleansing and using targeted treatments on your skin can strip your skin of its natural oils, making it sensitive and more prone to dryness and wrinkles. Replenish your skin’s natural moisture by using a moisturizer that will silken your skin.

Healthy Cleansing + AHA

Last, but certainly not least, the way you physically treat your skin can make a big impact in avoiding premature aging. The best anti-aging treat you can give your skin when cleansing and moisturizing is to use products containing AHA. AHA, or Alpha Hydroxy Acid, is a powerful exfoliant that works hard to shed dead skin cells and increase your skin’s cell turnover to bring out brighter, younger skin. It is naturally found in many foods we enjoy including pineapple, tomatoes and yogurt. AHA washes, lotions and masks are applied topically to directly penetrate your problem areas to remove old, damaged skin cells and reveal refreshed, smooth skin.

And when handling your skin, especially delicate, aging skin, apply your products with care. Aging skin is more sensitive to pulling and tugging, so when using a cleanser or a crème try to use upward, circular motions on your face and body. The circular, massaging motion helps stimulate the skin, increasing blood circulation which in turn will feed newer skin cells while they form.  The upward motion helps to counteract the downward pull gravity has on your skin to prevent extra wrinkles from forming. Combining skin massages with AHA skincare is a dynamic duo for fighting against premature aging and will give you the fresh skin you’re looking for.

We’ve talked about how to keep makeup brushes and applicators clean. Now, let’s discuss the act of applying makeup in order to prevent breakouts and keep your face looking just as beautiful underneath. There are many habits we have all been guilty of that we do not think could be affecting our skin.

We often apply foundation with our fingers in order to get controlled coverage, but sometimes we forget to wash our hands. You don’t want to miss this step. Along with spreading foundation across your face, you will also be spreading bacteria and oil from your fingertips to your face. Also, when doing your eye makeup, do not rest your hands on your cheeks, or other parts of your face, without washing your hands. You can even put a tissue paper under your fingers, and then rest them on your cheek when applying precise eye makeup.

Don’t apply makeup to dry skin! Always moisturize your face, and even your lips, before applying makeup. Moisturized skin makes it easier to apply makeup evenly, giving you a polished look. Exfoliate your face at least once a week in order to keep your face soft and smooth, for a perfect makeup application.

Also, when choosing foundations, make sure to choose a brand or a formula that works with your skin type. If your skin is on the oily side for example, look for oil free and matte finish foundations. If you have normal to dry skin, look for moisturizing liquid foundations or tinted moisturizers. They are great for giving the coverage you want while keeping your skin hydrated. If you struggle with acne, use water based, non-comedogenic makeup products that won’t clog your pores.

But, the most important makeup tip of all is to keep your skin healthy underneath. Your makeup removal process and skincare between makeup applications is just as important as safe makeup application tips. Make sure to thoroughly cleanse and tone your skin to remove built up dirt and oil from the face, then moisturize your face each night after a day of wearing makeup. Try our Anti-Aging Toner Astringent with AHA to refine pores, exfoliate dead skin cells and gently clarify and tone your skin by removing excess dirt and oil left behind from cleansing. And, for a light-weight moisturizer with SPF 15 protection and a smooth finish, try our My Natural Beauty Moisturizing Lotion.

Healthy makeup application can be tricky sometimes, but with these tips in mind, you’ll be able to put your best face forward and let the real you shine through!

Is this what I think it is? Is this a wrinkle? Some of us may have said this while looking into the mirror in the morning when we are putting on our make-up. Getting older comes with some great rewards such as being able to drive, drink alcohol, renting a car, and have credibility to start your own career; but it also comes with some bad as well, such as paying bills, bags underneath your eyes, your skin becoming dull, and wrinkles appearing. Well, no matter what we will always have to pay bills, yet there are ways to clear up those bags underneath your eyes, freshen your skin, and even get rid of your wrinkles. There are also different routines you can do to prevent all of these unwanted imperfections. Some of them don’t even require money being spent, just change to your daily schedule.

One of the biggest things that we tend to forget to do when we get older is sleep. Ok sometimes we don’t forget, we just don’t have enough time to get the recommended 8 hours of sleep each night. Yet,
not only does our mind and body need it, so does our skin. During the day our skin becomes a protection shield against nasty germs that want to get into our bodies. The skin is constantly protecting our other cells that make up the body. While we are sleeping our skin is repairing itself, just like a warrior would do in between battles. The way the skin repairs itself is by sending new skin cells to replace the old and damaged ones.  If we don’t get the sleep that we need our skin will become tired and over worked which is why we get those dark under eye circles , dull looking skin and wrinkles. Also, lack of sleep can lead to stress. Stress can cause your skin to have many different problems – acne, and wrinkles or “worry lines”. So stop stressing and start sleeping – your body, mind, and skin will appreciate it.

Like I have mentioned in the Let’s Rejuvenate Your Skin article, the sun can also affect your skin and can cause it to age faster than you expected. Our skin has a love hate relationship with the sun. It loves it because it needs it for Vitamin D. It hates it because it can damage the skin cells due to UV damage. The top layer of your skin is doing its best to protect itself, but it comes down to how much melanin you have in your skin. Melanin protects the skin from UV rays, and the more exposure your skin gets, it will cause your skin to produce more melanin (UV protection) and that is what makes you tan. However, if you don’t have a lot of melanin the UV rays will fight pass the top layer and will burn your skin. As UV rays enter the skin cell it harbors small amounts of cancer. Peeling of the skin is your cells committing suicide and shedding off from your body to prevent these traces of cancer from harming any more cells in your body. The constant death of your skin cells is what causes your skin to become wrinkled as the epidermis becomes thinner and loses elasticity. So to avoid this wear sunscreen or sunblock when you know you are going to be in the sun for a long time!!

If you smoke this too may be the reason why your skin is becoming wrinkled. Smoking contains toxins which cut off the oxygen and nutrient supply to your skin. It will also cause your skin to dry out, and create age spots. It is the worst possible thing you can do to your skin and health. Drinking water however, is one of the best things you can do. Drinking water helps get rid of the toxins in your body and will help your skin over time.

Changes in your daily schedule may be hard and that is completely understandable. A company that knows the struggles and is ready to help you by giving you the skin what you need is Clear Essence. Clear Essence’s Anti-Aging Skin Care Line is an age defying line made with Alpha Hydroxy Acid. The Alpha Hydroxy asseku5100pEKU5100Pists in shedding of dead skin cells and improves collagen formation, which will help make your skin look younger and eliminate wrinkles. The products in this line are all below $10, which is great if you are on a budget but still looking for effective products and great results! Clear Essence wants the real you to shine through. What do you think of when someone talks about body oil? Many people may think of massages, because in most professional massages they use body oil. Others may think of the benefits that it has for your skin, such as how soft it can make it. Some may even view it as a remedy, since some scents can actually affect your moods and pains that you may be experiencing. Yet, there are still some people out there that have never used body oil, and have no idea how to use it and why they should use it. Well you are not alone, and I will help you through the process of selecting, how to apply it and what the benefits are that come with each use of body oil. As well as introduce a product that Clear Essence Cosmetics carries.

When selecting your body oil it is very important you can pronounce the names of the ingredients because some of those ingredients may be harsh on your skin. You also do not want one that contains alcohol, because the alcohol will make your skin even drier. The type that you should get should be a natural skin care product, meaning every ingredient should be natural. The reason you want this is because the less tampered chemicals that can damage your skin. You want something that can heal the skin and hydrate.

When applying the oil it is critical that you know a little goes a long way. The reason being, the oil is highly concentrated. When using it on the face you should use even less. However, it can be a great moisturizer for those with oily skin as a cream or lotion might clog the pores. A silky oil can hydrate without having to be massaged into pores. Also, if you decide to warm up the oil either in your hand or in a microwave, you must remember that the oil will become lighter and there will be more to use. When you have a bath you can pour some of the body oil into the water and soak in it; this will help keep your skin smooth and hydrated. However, if you don’t have a bath tub, you can simply apply the body oil right after you get out of the shower. Wipe off lightly with a towel and then apply the oil all over your body. Once you have all the areas you wanted covered, wait a few minutes to let it soak in. Since your body is still a little wet this will help hydrate your skin and lock in moisture which will make it feel amazing and soft.wellness-285587__180There are many different benefits that body oil brings to the table. One of these benefits is that it is cost efficient. Instead to buying lotion that will be gone sooner than you know it, you can buy body oil which well do the same effects, if not better on your skin. Yes, body oil may be more up front but since a little goes a long way you won’t have to buy body oil as frequently as you do for lotion. Also, it tends to be made from organic skin care ingredients; meaning that they are free from chemicals and are extracted from roots, fruits, flowers, and leaves. Using body oil for massages can help improve your health, reduce pain and decrease stress. The way that it can do this is by different and special blends of ingredients that are designed to target specific areas of the body. For instance, some can relieve stomach aches, improve circulation, or alleviate pain in sore or stiff muscles or joints. Some ingredients can also affect people’s moods. Rosemary enhances alertness while lavender restores restfulness, or jasmine which increases confidence.

As we cross the threshold between Summer and Fall, the heat of Summer begins to simmer away and make room for the cool breezes that Fall has to offer. Finally, we can escape our air-conditioned homes and absorb all that life has to offer us—like exercise. Sure exercise is great for the skin, keeping it tight and healthy while also cleansing and exfoliating your pores, but if precautionary steps aren’t taken, then you can end up with a variety of skin issues; like blisters.

We all know what blisters are; aside from making our lives a little more difficult, they act as signals to tell us when we’re treating our skin poorly. Whether it’s wearing the wrong sized shoe, applying too much friction to the skin, or accidently irritating the skin with heat or chemicals, blisters form. Regardless of the cause, a blister is the result of a damaged epidermis (the outer layer of the skin), and it acts as a defense mechanism to protect your body from infection by filling the damaged area with fluids to form the hard, blister you see today.

No matter what anyone tells you, do not pop your blisters. Instead, gently wash your blister(s) with a mild soap; such as Clear Essence’s Lemon Plus Vitamin C Body Scrub Soap, Complexion Soap with Vitamin E, or our Olive/Carrot Oil Soaps. After cleansing, apply an antibacterial cream in order to prevent and stop and infection from occurring. This method does work, but the best way to relieve yourself from the stress of blisters is to prevent them. You can do this by simply keeping your skin hydrated and healthy as often as possible. We at Clear Essence Cosmetics have many options to achieve this, but the simplest way to do so is using some of our thicker body creams such as our Olive Oil Body Cream or our Swiss Complex Collagen and Vitamin E Body Crème. Both are thick; which will cut down how often you apply lotion, and are basic; meaning that they don’t have harsh chemicals that may irritate your skin. Your skin is important to us here at Clear Essence, so if you have any questions regarding your skin or our products, visit us online at www.clearessence.com or contact us today!

No matter which way you approach it, learning a language is not easy. You can take classes, buy programs, and try learning from friends, but who really has time to learn a language? So if you can’t find a way to learn a language like Spanish, then how are you supposed to find a way to learn the language of skincare and cosmetics? Octyl Methoxycinnamate, Oxybenzoen, and Benzophenoe are all words which are more complex than most languages, but Clear Essence Cosmetics is here to help you learn the meaning behind some of the most popular skincare and cosmetics terms out there!

Hydroquinone:

For those of you that want to lighten your skin without bleaching your skin or getting too light, Hydroquinone is the answer. Does the name, “Hydroquinone”, scare you? With thousands of articles online and in print attacking Hydroquinone for being detrimental to a person’s health, I wouldn’t be surprised if it scares you; but it shouldn’t, especially when formulated in Clear Essence Cosmetics. Hydroquinone is an active ingredient that reduces the production of melanin in the skin, thus causing the skin to become fairer. Yes, in 2006 the FDA banned the use of Hydroquinone, but that is simply because it wasn’t being used correctly by doctors and companies around the globe. But soon enough the FDA became aware that in a less concentrated state, Hydroquinone is far less dangerous and just as effective. So this is why today, Clear Essence Cosmetics is here to offer you our skincare lines with 2% Hydroquinone so you can quickly lighten your skin without worrying about any damaging effects to your body or overall health. Our customer’s safety is a top priority for Clear Essence Cosmetics; which is why we test every batch of our product to insure that it is safe and effective. If you have sensitive skin; though, get a dime-sized drop of our product and rub it on your skin and wait 24 hours to see if any irritations arise. If one does arise, Clear Essence Cosmetics will gladly replace your product with something that is safer for your skin! Feel free to contact us today and we can consult you into having the best skin of your life!

Alpha Hydroxy Acid:

If you’re looking for unwrinkled, glowing skin without going through the hassle of visiting a dermatologist, then Alpha Hydroxy Acid, or AHA, is your solution. AHA is an over-the-counter treatment that has been proven countless times throughout history for being extremely effective; all without catching any negative attention like Hydroquinone has in the past. AHA is proven to be safe and does not take much more than some patience to get the results you are looking for. If this sounds enticing to you, then be sure to try Clear Essence Cosmetic’s Alpha Hydroxy Series. This is a skincare line specifically formulated with AHA in order to provide our customer with a cheap, safe, and effective way to combat dry, faded, and wrinkled skin. AHA does cause sensitivity to sunlight; though, so be sure to apply a SPF 10 or SPF 15 sunscreen after use. Be sure to go online and check out our products, or give us a call or email to try a sample of our product today!

Glycerin:

For many, Glycerin sounds like a chemical produced at an oil refinery, thus piggybacking a terrible connotation to an ingredient that is extremely safe and effective to use. In a basic definition, Glycerin is a light, organic, non-greasy fatty acid used as a lubricant and moisturizer, but why is it so effective? Glycerin is effective because of two characteristics: it’s highly hygroscopic and it’s a skin-identical ingredient. Being hygroscopic, Glycerin pulls water from the outside (humidity) and from the rest of your body. Pulling water from lower levels of skin up and from the outside air sounds like a good idea, but it ultimately leads to dry skin because if there’s no water below your layer of skin or outside, then you will be left dry, but that is not the case with Glycerin. Because Glycerin is a skin-identical ingredient, meaning it is found naturally in the skin, the body works very effectively with the ingredient and helps to prevent skin from drying-out or scaling. Glycerin is cheap, effective, and available in several of our lines, so go out and try the effects of Glycerin!

As we’ve said time and time again, Clear Essence Cosmetics is here to offer you the cheapest, most effective, and safest skincare products on the market. Across the globe, people are being crippled by the internal and external effects of eczema; cornering them into a life surrounded by covering rashes and spending ridiculous amounts of money to cure them of their condition. With 30 million Americans alone suffering from this condition, it’s no surprise that the National Eczema Association was put in place. With no clear cure for eczema, we must learn how to combat eczema in the most efficient, cost-effective manner; and that is where Clear Essence Cosmetics is here to help.

To this day there is no known cause of eczema. We aren’t really sure how eczema is spread and transmitted either, but regardless of its origins, we know how to combat it. A majority of people wait until the effects of eczema are unbearable to act upon it; paying hefty price tags for prescription creams and ointments, but the real, long-lasting treatment for eczema is changing your lifestyle into a skin-conscious lifestyle. Learning to recognize things that irritate your skin, taking warm showers with non-soap cleansers, keeping your skin constantly hydrated and moisturized, and avoiding rapid changes in body temperature are all ways to insure that you will stop eczema now, and hopefully forever.

You may be thinking, “Of course I’ve tried cleansers and moisturizers, but those never work!”, but that may be because you never fully understood what you needed from an eczema-fighting cleanser and/or moisturizer. In terms of moisturizers, you’re going to want to find a thick, oily cream that can sufficiently hydrate your skin for an extended period of time. A nice example of this is Clear Essence’s Olive Oil Body Cream. Harnessing the age-old power of Olive Oil, Clear Essence’s cream powers through dry, damaged skin and sufficiently rejuvenates the skin with its powerful hydrating capabilities. As for cleansers, you should be looking for non-soap cleanser bars or washes that are low pH, fragrance-free, and dye-free. Luckily for you, Clear Essence carries various cleanser bars and washes in several of its lines; such as the Platinum Line, the Vitamin-C Line, and even the Men’s Chimere Line. Apply these great moisturizers with bathing, moisturizing, and cleansing tips from our other blog posts to insure that you are eczema free now and forever.

Ashy skin has been an issue for people; especially people of color, for generations. We’ve all seen and heard jokes about ashy skin on countless television shows, movies, and radio, but it is no laughing matter. Across the globe, there are people who are desperately looking for a solution to rid them of their severely ashy skin so they can finally put on a tank top or pair of shorts again without being scared to expose ashy ankles, elbows, etc. With a few tips and a few Clear Essence Cosmetics products, you will be well on your way to preventing and treating ashy skin today!

As you may suspect, ashy skin is a result of excessively dry skin. When your body naturally replaces your dead skin with new, healthier skin, that dead skin may refuse to strip away from your body, and accumulate on your skin to create an “ashy” appearance. With correct hydration, exfoliation, and moisturization; though, this accumulation of dead skin will not occur. Remember that water is your best friend and greatest ally when combating dry skin, so allow yourself to drink 8-9 glasses of water a day and to shower in shorter increments with cooler water. Proper exfoliation once or twice a week is also extremely crucial for removing the build-up of dead skin on your body. Also, don’t forget to moisturize your skin after showering and exfoliation, as well as all day long, in order to prevent and treat dry, ashy skin.

Moisturization is vital to preventing and treating ashy skin, but with a sea of products and treatments at your fingertips, which ones do you choose? This is where Clear Essence Cosmetics is here to help. It’s a pain to see so many consumers purchasing products that state they “hydrate” the skin, but contain ingredients like alcohol and SLS (sodium lauryl sulfate) which excessively dry-out your skin. Look for products like Clear Essence, containing ingredients such as lactic acid, AHA (alpha hydroxy acid), and butters and oils that can guarantee hydrated by years of research and practice. So head on over to www.clearessence.com (or a store near you that carries Clear Essence Cosmetics) and put our tips to work to help you prevent and treat ashy skin today!

When Life Gives You Lemons

“Lemonade! Come get your Lemonade!” is what many of us yelled when we were younger and wanted to earn some money. I bet as a child you didn’t know that those lemons you used to make that lemonade are actually good for your health. Well they are, and they can help you in many other ways as well. They are very helpful for around the house and you can use them as a beauty component. No wonder why people used to give lemons as a gifts to kings.

Lemons have a tart taste to them, but they are very good for you. Since lemons contain Vitamin C, lemons help keeps your immune system stay strong, and lower your blood pressure. Lemons can also boost your metabolism, by helping you regulate your bowel movement. Lemons also carry Vitamin P which helps strengthen your blood vessels. Lemon has also been discovered to have 22 anti-cancer compounds. These include limonene that slows down the growth of cancer tumors and flavonol glycosides that can stop cell division in cancer cells.

After using that lemon juice in your water, you might as well use the rest to freshen up your house. You can use lemons as both an air freshener and a cleaner. With olive oil, raw honey, and lemons; you can make a conditioner that is great for dry and damaged hair. If your nails are weak, grab a bowl filled with lemon juice and soak them for 10 minutes, then place them in a mixture of water and vinegar. Lemons also help with removing excess oil from your skin, remove scars, lighten blemishes, and reduce acne.
